Here, you can purchase a bucket filled with promising gemstone ore and head to the covered flume area where you can sift through the mounds of material for valuable gemstones including sapphires, rubies, aquamarine, garnets, emeralds, quartz and more. Buckets come in a variety of sizes, perfect for both young kids and adults to get a taste of the anticipation and excitement. Located west of Boone, the gem shop is almost due north from the top of Moses H. Cone Memorial Park.
